The Moon makes no light of its own. The Sun always lights half of it, and as the Moon travels around the Earth, we see more or less of that lit half. The whole pattern takes about twenty-nine and a half days, then starts again.La Luna no tiene luz propia. El Sol siempre ilumina la mitad de ella, y mientras la Luna da la vuelta a la Tierra, vemos una parte mayor o menor de esa mitad iluminada. Watch with a grown-up from a safe spot, and never look at the Sun. Some nights the Moon rises late or shows up in the morning sky instead, so a cloudy or empty night is data too: write cloudy, or not up yet.Observe con una persona adulta desde un lugar seguro, y nunca mire al Sol. Algunas noches la Luna sale tarde o aparece en el cielo de la mañana, así que una noche nublada o vacía también es un dato: escriba nublado, o todavía no sale.
