Break a trade into tasks and brief someone who does itDivida un oficio en tareas y presente su análisis a alguien que lo ejerce

Pick a trade in your region, list its real tasks, sort each one as something AI could automate, assist or never replace, with reasons, then brief a family member or neighbor in that trade and take their hardest question.

StepsPasos

  1. Pick a trade people do where you live: agriculture, construction, logistics or health.
  2. Break it into tasks: write the working day as twenty or more tasks, from the first phone call to the last cleanup.
  3. Make three columns, automate, assist and durable, and sort each task with a reason beside it.Haga tres columnas, automatizar, asistir y duradera, y clasifique cada tarea con una razón al lado.
  4. Learn one case: with the adult, find one real example of a tool adopted in that trade, what it changed, what it did not, and what it cost.
  5. Draft the briefing: the trade, the tasks, the sort, the case and one uncertainty stated plainly.
  6. Brief the guest. Ask what you got wrong, and take their hardest question.
  7. Revise the columns in front of them and say what changed.

What you needLo que necesita

  • Paper and markers for the task list in three columnsPapel y marcadores para la lista de tareas en tres columnas
  • A family member, neighbor or friend who works in a trade, invited by an adultUn familiar, vecino o amigo que trabaja en un oficio, invitado por un adulto

Things already at home.Cosas que ya hay en casa.

An adult arranges the guest's visit or call and is present for it. Give the guest only your task list, never personal details, and keep the guest's name and workplace off anything you share or post unless they say yes.

The big ideaLa gran idea

Trades are not safe from AI, and trades are not doomed by it; both ideas fall apart when you look task by task. A plumber's day, a farmer's, a nurse's and a dispatcher's are dozens of tasks, and for each one you can ask: could a machine do it alone, could a tool help a person do it faster or safer, or does it stay with a person? Some tasks change, many stay, and the details matter. Adoption is not free: new tools cost money, training and time, and that cost decides a lot. The guest keeps everyone honest. Briefing a real professional, taking their hardest question and stating one uncertainty plainly is the whole skill: no hype and no doom.

Your engineering challengeSu reto de ingeniería

Deliver a briefing on one trade, task by task, to someone who does the work, survive their hardest question, and revise your sorting in front of them.

Make it an experimentConviértalo en un experimento

Science is about changing one thing and watching what happens. Write down your guess, your hypothesis, before you start.

  • Sort the same task list alone and then with the guest, and count how many tasks moved columns.
  • Two trades, the same three columns: which trade has the most durable tasks, and what do those tasks have in common?
  • Add the adoption cost to each automatable task, in money, training or time. How many still look worth it?Agregue el costo de adopción a cada tarea automatizable, en dinero, capacitación o tiempo. ¿Cuántas siguen pareciendo que valen la pena?

Make it harderHágalo más difícil

Price the adoption: for one automatable task, estimate the tool's cost, the training time and the payback, and argue both sides.

For a younger onePara alguien más pequeño

The younger one draws the tools a worker in that trade uses and sorts them into helps a person and works alone. Ask the guest to check the drawing.
